Chick-Fil-A "Freedom of Speech Day"

This is about the CEO of a corporation who uses his money to promote anti-gay bigotry and some big city mayors who were so annoyed by it that they talked out of their butts. Now we have the Left organizing a boycott and the Right trying to defend this corporation by falsely claiming that their free speech is being attacked. Since the big city mayors can't actually make good on their threats this isn't about protecting free speech. This is about a boycott from the Left and an attempt by the Right to blunt the effects of that boycott.

So far, so good. But then along comes "The Liberty and Freedom Foundation" one of those astroturf right-wing nutjob groups that has hijacked the very concept of liberty and freedom to push their conservative agenda out to a stupid, gullible, tax-hating, Obama-fearing public. Let's review some of their recent Facebook posts:

THINK OBAMA'S AMNESTY PLAY TO GET VOTES DOESN'T HAVE CONSEQUENCES, 19 WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEPORTED COMMITTED MURDER

And that's just from the last 24 hours. This is NOT a non-partisan group and neither is the "freedom of speech day." The Liberty and Freedom Foundation says, "...we ask that EVERYONE please show that we won't let the TYRANNY OF THE FAR LEFT DESTROY AMERICA and that there is a place for traditional values here by supporting Chick-Fil-A on August 1, 2012."

Going to Chick-Fil-A today and forking over fifteen bucks for a couple of chicken sandwiches will not make even a tiny dent in the supposed "tyranny of the far left" that these political operatives are constantly whining about.
